Magnificent large 18th century German reliquary richly decorated with a montage of textiles, brocade, gold thread embroidery, silver and precious stones, housing two First-class relics protected by a fine veil and a hand-painted, colored central engraving of the Last Supper, religious art, convent work.

In its original box, protected by glass and framed by a gilded wooden frame.

Magnificent work to be compared to reliquaries containing the remains of holy martyrs from the catacombs of Rome and adorned with gold and jewels that can still be seen in Switzerland and in southern Germany (for example at the Abbey of Waldsassen)

Saint Victorinus was a 3rd century Christian martyr from Milan, Italy. He was persecuted and put to death for his faith during the persecutions of Roman Emperor Diocletian. Victorin is revered as a saint and martyr in the Catholic Church. His feast day is celebrated on November 8. His life and his sacrifice are an example of devotion and fidelity to the Christian faith. It is said that he was tortured and executed, but maintained great strength and a serene composure until the end. His memory is honored as a symbol of courage and perseverance in the Christian faith.
