Blessed Crispin of Viterbo (1668-1750), born Pietro Fioretti, was an Italian Capuchin friar known for his simplicity, charity, and deep piety. A native of Viterbo, he entered the Capuchin order at the age of 25. He lived a humble life as a begging friar, traveling the countryside collecting donations for his convent while providing comfort and spiritual guidance to the poor and sick. Known for his miracles and his sense of humor, he had a cheerful personality that drew people to him. He was also devoted to the Virgin Mary, whom he often invoked in prayer. He was beatified in 1806 by Pope Pius VII. Today, he is venerated as a model of simple, people-centered holiness.
