RELIQUARY 8 SAINTS 18th century

Very beautiful rectangular reliquary from the 18th century, religious art, convent work presenting, embedded in paper lace with a golden edge, 8 relics identified in Latin on handwritten labels. Original gilded wood frame and its glass also original.

Paper rolls are a decoration technique using narrow strips of paper gilded on the edge, to form loops, circles and other shuttles, which are glued by the edge to a support to constitute a three-dimensional subject.
The paperrolls are made in convents for the careful creation of small reliquary paintings.
