Saint Anthony of Padua , born in 1195 in Lisbon, is a Franciscan priest and famous theologian. Initially a member of the Augustinians, he joined the Franciscan order after being touched by the martyrdom of missionaries in Africa. Known for his talents as a preacher and his many miracles, he is nicknamed the "hammer of heretics". He is often invoked to find lost objects and for his intercession in difficult causes. Died in 1231 in Padua, Italy, he was canonized a year after his death and his feast day is celebrated on June 13.
Saint Arthemius is a little-known Christian saint venerated primarily in Auvergne, France. He is often associated with the city of Clermont-Ferrand, where a church bears his name. According to tradition, he lived in the 6th century and died a martyr for his faith. His local cult manifested itself in pilgrimages and prayers for the healing of illnesses. Although few precise details survive of his life, he remains a figure of regional piety.
