RELIC OF THE TRUE CROSS OF CHRIST

Rare small silver reliquary with a glass front, containing a first-class relic of the True Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This relic is showcased in a delicate montage, resting on a background of red fabric, the color traditionally associated with the Passion. It is framed with a filigree decoration composed of gold thread and cut-out paper, forming a sort of stylized baroque radiance. The whole is encased in a silver-plated metal frame decorated with raised plant motifs, giving the object a solemn and sacred appearance.

The reverse of the reliquary is decorated in relief with a radiant flaming Heart—the emblem of the Sacred Heart of Jesus—surrounded by scrolls and arabesques typical of 19th-century religious aesthetics. This motif expresses both the sacrificial love of Christ and the emotional piety characteristic of this period.
