THE DEVIL IN THE CAULDRON

Rare bronze forming a covered pot representing a devil cooking in a cauldron.
the finely detailed and chiseled devil sticks his head and hands out of a large cauldron under which a wood fire is lit.
the lid is composed of the head and hands of the devil whose large bat wings make up the rounded shape, the interior is decorated with a removable gilt brass receptacle.
the whole rests on a beautiful black marble base.
Very good condition with a very nice patina.
