Severo Calzetta da Ravenna nicknamed the Master of Dragons. This sculptor worked between Ravenna, Ferrara and Padua between the end of the 15th century and the middle of the 16th century. A certain number of bronze objects preserved in different museums around the world are attributed to him.
The resumption of the creations of Severo Calzetta da Ravenna in the 18th and 19th centuries is part of the tradition of the Grand Tour: these were objects intended for enlightened amateurs. The concept of the School of Padua is often attached to it.
