Saint Flamina would have lived in the 3rd century during the reign of Diocletian. Daughter of a patrician, her villa was located on the current location of the Château de Montaclier. Denounced for her spread of Christianity, she was executed by the soldiers of Governor Blasius. While trying to escape, she clung to an elusive stone. His decapitation took place, and his head was thrown into the well of the temple of Teutates. A church was then erected on the site, housing the miraculous well of Saint Flamine, renowned for curing eye conditions. The relics of the saint have been venerated in Davayat since 950. The Saint is also honored in Gestel, in Morbihan.
