Opulent baroque silver reliquary richly decorated with flowers and an image of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove containing two relics of the Blessed Virgin Mary .
The first relic is a piece of the veil of the Blessed Virgin Mary .
The second relic is a piece of the tomb of the Blessed Virgin Mary .
The relics are fixed on a background of red fabric decorated with gold and silver threads, they are identified in Latin on a handwritten label. like Ex Velo BVM . and Ex Sepul BVM
Sold with its old gilded wooden frame.
Good used condition, small scratch on its original glass.

The story of the veil of the Virgin Mary is shrouded in mystery and legends. According to tradition, the veil would have been worn by Mary during the crucifixion of Jesus. After her death, the veil would have been kept by disciples and saints. Over the centuries, it would have been transferred from hand to hand, until it found refuge in prestigious places of worship such as Saint Peter's Basilica in the Vatican and Chartres Cathedral in France.
