Saint Vincent de Paul (1581-1660) was a French priest who dedicated his life to helping the poor and excluded. He founded the Congregation of the Mission (the Lazarists) to train priests in Christian charity and also founded the Company of the Daughters of Charity to help the sick and the poor. He is revered as the patron saint of charitable works.
