Rare oval-shaped reliquary in blackened wood with a purple velvet background, decorated with a set of papers with golden edges housing a relic of Saint Theodora identified on a handwritten label.

In the 5th century, in Alexandria, the young bride Theodora committed adultery. Seized with remorse, she became a penitent, dressed as a man and entered a monastery where she became abbot.
