Saint Saint Margaret of Cortona is the patron saint of women in childbirth.

Saint Margaret of Cortona (1247-1297) was an Italian woman who, after a dissolute youth, repented of her errors and converted to a life of piety. She joined the Franciscan order, devoting the rest of her life to prayer, penance and helping the destitute. Margaret of Cortona is revered as a saint of the Catholic Church because of her spiritual transformation and her life dedicated to charity. His cult developed after his canonization in 1728 by Pope Benedict XIII. She is recognized as an example of conversion and redemption in the Christian tradition.
