Saint Lucien is a Christian saint, considered the first bishop of Beauvais, France. He is said to have lived in the 3rd century and to have come to evangelize the region of Gaul under the Roman Empire. According to tradition, he suffered martyrdom because of his faith, beheaded in Montmille, near Beauvais. It is said that, even after his beheading, he picked up his head and walked to the place where he wished to be buried, making him one of the cephalophore saints. Saint Lucien is venerated as a model of courage and faith in the face of persecution. His feast day is celebrated on January 8. The church of Saint-Lucien in Beauvais is dedicated to him, testifying to the importance of his legacy in the region.
