Rare reliquary in bronze with a glass facade, containing the relic of Saint Lucy. The relic is fixed on a background of red fabric decorated with silver threads and it is identified in Latin on a label as S.Luciae.VM

Good used condition with its original glass.

Saint Lucy of Syracuse was a young Christian martyr born in the 3rd century in Sicily. She is known for her strong faith and devotion to God. Lucie dedicated her life to helping the poor and sick in her community. She refused to marry and took a vow of chastity. Her martyrdom came when she was persecuted for her Christian faith and executed by being pierced by a sword. Saint Lucy is invoked against eye diseases and hemorrhages. She is the patroness of the blind, electricians and ophthalmologists. due to a legend according to which his eyes were gouged out during his ordeal. His feast day is celebrated on December 13 in the Catholic Church.
