Rare reliquary in silvered bronze with a beveled glass front, containing the first class relic Ex Ossibus of Saint Claude (bishop of Jura). The relic is fixed on a fabric background decorated with gold threads and colored stones and it is identified in Latin on a handwritten label as S. Claudii Ep .C
Good used condition with its original glass.

Saint Claude is a 4th century Catholic saint, born in Spain and died in Italy. He was a hermit in the mountains of the Jura region of France and founded a monastery in Condat before being elected bishop of Besançon. He was a spiritual advisor to several Frankish kings and is considered the patron saint of goldsmiths and blacksmiths. His feast day is celebrated on June 6 in the Catholic Church.
