Rare silver reliquary with a glass front, containing the first-class Ex Ossibus relic of Saint Candide (Saint Xander). The relic is fixed on a fabric background decorated with silver threads and is identified in Latin on a label. typed as S. Candidi M.

Saint Candide, also known as Saint Xandre, was an officer of the Theban Legion, a semi-legendary legion believed to have originated in Thebes (Egypt) in the Roman Empire in the 3rd century. He was martyred, as well as his companions, on the order of the Roman emperor Maximien for having refused to fight the Bagaudes in Valais, then Christians.
