Rare reliquary in bronze with a bevelled glass facade, containing the first-class relic Ex Ossibus of Saint Berthold of Mount Carmel (Berthold of Calabria) . The relic is fixed on a background of red fabric decorated with paperolles and silver threads, it is identified in Latin on a handwritten label. as Ex ossib. S.Bertoldi C.

Saint Berthold of Mount Carmel, also known as Berthold of Calabria, was a 13th-century hermit and cleric. He is famous for being one of the first Carmelite hermits and is considered a founding father of the Order of Carmel. Berthold was known for his intense prayer life, his solitude in the mountains, and his practice of austerity. He was recognized for his wisdom and spiritual guidance, attracting many followers. He played an important role in the development of Carmelite spirituality and inspired other hermits to join him in a life of contemplation and prayer. Saint Berthold is venerated as a model of Carmelite holiness and the search for God in solitude.
