Rare small reliquary in bronze with a glass facade, containing the relic of Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez. The relic is fixed on a background of red fabric, decorated with silver threads and it is identified in Latin on a label as b. Alph.Rod
Alphonse Rodriguez was beatified on January 15, 1825 by Pope Leo XII and canonized on September 6, 1887 by Pope Leo XIII. The reliquary was therefore made between these two dates.
Good used condition with its original glass.

Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez, a humble 16th-century Spanish layman, is known for his devotion and service to God. His simple life and work as a doorman at a Jesuit college in Majorca reflected his deep piety and charity towards others. He dedicated his days to prayer, meditation and spiritual guidance to students and community members. His example of modesty and humility inspired many devotees to embrace a life of selfless service. Canonized in 1888, Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez remains a model of holiness and devotion for Christians around the world.
