Table-reliquary of the Holy Nail of the Holy Cross composed of an oval frame in molded wood and painted black (faux ebony), enhanced with a brass thread inside, a relic:a wrought iron nail, fixed vertically on an old red background and protected by a curved glass.
Episcopal wax seal from the San Croce in Gerusalemme church in Rome present on the nail.
A few chips and wormholes due to age, but overall a surprisingly intact piece considering its age, fragility and especially its rarity.
