Magnificent altar reliquary in embossed silver metal on a gilded wooden support, carved with decoration of acanthus leaves, shells, angels, scrolls and palmettes housing the relics of the Holy Veil of the Virgin Mary and her husband: Saint Joseph.

The relics are fixed on silver leaf stars fixed on a background of fabric embroidered in gold leaf, they are identified in Italian on two handwritten labels as Velo della SS: Verg: and S.Gius: Sp: Della B: V: (Veil of the Holy Virgin and Saint Joseph husband of the Holy Virgin) and are sealed with a red silk ribbon and two ecclesiastical seals.

Good used condition. Wear to the silver plating.
