Rare 18th-century reliquary in silvered bronze with two glass faces, containing a first-class relic of the True Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A red fabric background provides contrast and highlights the relic; this color, omnipresent in Christian liturgy, symbolizes the blood of Christ and His redemptive sacrifice.
The relic is identified in Latin as:

Top: partially legible as “Lign[um] SS. Crucis”, that is, Lignum Sanctissimae Crucis, meaning “Wood of the Most Holy Cross.”
