Rare silver reliquary with a glass front containing the relic of Saint Vincent de Paul. The relic is fixed in the center of a richly decorated decoration. decorated with gold-edged paperolles, silver threads and it is identified in Latin on a handwritten label as: Ex veste Vincenti a Paulo (From the clothing of Vincent de Paul).
Good used condition with its original glass.

Saint Vincent de Paul (1581-1660) was a French Catholic priest known for his commitment to the poor and the sick. He founded the Congregation of the Mission (Lazarists) and the Daughters of Charity with Louise de Marillac. Devoted to charity, he organized relief works for the most destitute, particularly orphans and galley slaves. His work had a profound impact on the Church and society of his time. He was also an influential spiritual advisor to the nobility and the clergy. Canonized in 1737, he is today the patron saint of charitable works. His legacy lives on through many charitable organizations that bear his name.
