Rare reliquary made of silver-plated bronze with a glass front containing the first-class relic Ex Ossibus of Saint Rainier of Pisa.

The relic is fixed at the center of a refined decoration. It rests on a deep red fabric background; this color, omnipresent in Christian liturgy, symbolizes the blood of Christ and His redemptive sacrifice. Around the relic, a radiant motif in gold leaf evokes a divine halo, enhancing its sacred character.

Below, a paper or parchment label bears the inscription "Ex. Oss. S. Raynerii. Pif. Conf" (originating from the bones of Saint Rainier of Pisa, confessor).

Saint Rainier of Pisa (or Rainerius, † 1160) is the patron saint of the city of Pisa, Italy. Originally a troubadour and worldly young man, he experienced a profound conversion after meeting a hermit and chose a life of penance and prayer. He went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, where he lived for several years in austerity before returning to Pisa as a preacher and wonderworker. His life was marked by humility, charity toward the poor, and miracles. Venerated from his death onward, his cult quickly developed in his hometown. His relics are kept in the cathedral of Pisa. He is celebrated on June 17.
