Saint Philip Neri (1515–1595) was an Italian priest known for his contagious joy and deep spirituality. He founded the Congregation of the Oratory, a community of secular priests devoted to prayer, teaching, and charity. Deeply connected to the youth and the poor, he used humor and music to share the faith. Nicknamed the "Apostle of Rome" for his pastoral work in the heart of the city, he was a discreet mystic, sometimes entering ecstasy during Mass. He encouraged frequent confession and communion, practices that were rare at the time. Philip Neri was canonized in 1622 and remains a model of joyful and approachable holiness.
