Saint Philip Neri, born in 1515 in Florence, was an Italian priest known for his contagious joy and his benevolent approach to faith. After settling in Rome, he devoted himself to serving the poor and pilgrims, earning the nickname "Apostle of Rome". In 1575, he founded the Congregation of the Oratory, a religious institute focused on prayer, charity and preaching. Philip Neri was distinguished by his joyful spirit, his sense of humor and his love of music, which he used to attract the faithful. He encouraged a simple spirituality, accessible to all, and advocated holiness through joy. He died in 1595, was canonized in 1622 and remains a model of radiant holiness, deeply human and joyful.
