Saint Mary Magdalene de Pazzi (1566–1607) was an Italian mystic and Carmelite nun, born in Florence into a noble family. Drawn to the spiritual life from an early age, she entered the Carmelite order at the age of 16. She is renowned for her mystical ecstasies and visions, which she experienced over five intense years. These spiritual experiences were recorded by her fellow sisters, revealing a profound union with God and a passion for Church reform. She advocated purity of faith, humility, and complete detachment from material possessions. Mary Magdalene de Pazzi regarded suffering as a means of uniting with the crucified Christ. She was canonized in 1669 by Pope Clement IX.
