Saint Calepodus of Rome, martyred around 232 under the Emperor Severus Alexander, was a cardinal-priest of the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere. He was executed along with Palmatius and Simplicius during the persecutions against Christians. After his death, his body was found on the Via Aurelia and buried there, which became the Catacomb of Calepodus . His relics, along with those of Saint Callistus and Saint Cornelius, were transferred to the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere. Some relics were later sent to Fulda and Cysoing. Although few iconographic representations of Saint Calepodus exist, his memory is honored in these holy places. His legacy endures through his veneration as a symbol of faith and Christian perseverance.
