Initially a brilliant lawyer, he gave up his career to become a priest, devoting his life to the evangelization of the poor and marginalized. He is famous for his talents as a preacher, his deep Marian devotion, and his numerous theological writings, including the classic "Moral Theology" , which still influences the Church today.
