ref: #RK00-808Moving small terracotta bust, depicting the head of a bearded man, tilted to the side. The facial features are expressive, marked by great spiritual intensity. The finely modeled hair and beard frame a face whose eyes appear to be inlaid with glass, enhancing the strength of the gaze.
The original polychromy, although partially worn by time, remains visible and gives the whole piece an authentic patina. A slight wear can be noted on the nose, without diminishing the expressive power of the sculpture. On the reverse and at the base, holes and wear attest to an earlier mounting, probably on a base or integrated into a larger composition (altarpiece, entombment, sculptural group).
The iconography and the treatment of the face allow it, with plausibility, to be attributed to Saint Peter, recognizable by his beard and his serious, meditative expression.
